In the last couple months, there has been a bunch of crap put up here that most all of us have seen in one way or another. In the past, to become a member, you had to provide a valid e-mail addy so that the server could send a conformation for a new member to reply to so that they could get up here and participate. This works well for honest-to-God fisher-people wanting to get up here and be a part of our sickness. It also kept the spammers out, because they would never reply to the conformation and finish the process.
Evidently, the jack-asses that we've all seen up here have written a program to get through this process and become "members". All they have to do now is sit down and start their mass-mail spam bots from all over the friggin planet and we get stuck with all the $#i+. All the Admins are doing what they can, when they see it up here. It has become almost a full time job now, as I know I spend an hour or so everytime I get up here cleaning up the crap.
IP bans have been implemented, but with billions of IP number combo's from all over the planet, it's hard to narrow down a range to make it completely disappear. If you see any of this on FFS, let one of the Admins know, and they will delete it. We are doing the best we can at this point. Y'all can contact me if you have any questions or concerns;
